The new Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Lithuania, H.E. Mr Cosmin George Dinescu, presented his letters of credence

On September 11, 2019, the new Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Lithuania, Mr Cosmin George Dinescu, presented his letters of credence to the President of the Republic of Lithuania, H.E. Mr Gitanas Nausėda, in a ceremony organized at the Presidential Palace in Vilnius.

During the meeting, opportunities for strengthening the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries in areas such as economy, trade, tourism, education and science were tackled. President Nausėda underlined that Romania and Lithuania are like-minded countries, which are cooperating very well within EU and NATO, having similar approaches on important files such as regional security or the Eastern Partnership and facing the same challenges on the Eastern flank of the Alliance.

The Ambassador of Romania stressed that Lithuania is an important partner for Romania and expressed his intention to work towards developing people-to-people contacts at local communities’ level, with the aim of ensuring a better mutual understanding between the two nations. He also mentioned his strong interest in actively promoting Romania in Lithuania, including as a touristic destination, and attracting a larger number of Lithuanian investors in Romania.
